My cat has been acting a little lethargic these last couple of weeks. We took him to the vet and got everything checked out, everything seemed fine, so we gave it a couple more days. Went back to the vet and got everything checked again, this time with blood work and urine test. Everything seemed fine no leukima or FIV. Then the vet called and said something that I've never heard of which was FIP.
We have him on anti biotics right now to see if that will help anything, but from what I've read about the disease there is really nothing that can be done. Since he's been on the medicine he seems to be doing a little better and I can see my cat coming back. When I look at the symptoms though it's hard for me to say that's what he has. He doesn't have a loss of appetite, and he goes to the litter box normally. Tonight though he woke up and walked a little strange to the bathroom and I haven't slept since. Then he walks to his food and seems to walk normally. This is driving me crazy. We have him on the antibiotics for 4 more days and then if nothing changes were going to the "specialists." has anyone had a car into which the vet has said it may be FIP, but been something else treatable? If so then what was it?
