Hi,
I'm new, bear with me. I need help. I lost my job last year and have been living on savings and am almost out.. So take that into account please.
Problem: cat has developed bumps and blisters on stomach. Used to have issues with back of legs but now gone. There are symmetrical grey spots/hair (not just skin) on his stomach. Getting worse.
Diet: full animal raw food (rabbit, elk, se duck, some lamb, some tuna.. By some I mean rarely). Glucosamine supplements as well as occasional supplement of a dietary aid (taurine, vitamins etc). No guar gum, carregam etc. daily omega 3-6-9 as directed.
My cat: 8-10 year old Maine coon mix (with what, don't know) adopted after three homes the only one who would take him. Up to date on all shots. Some dental decay and slightly smaller kidney. Drinks and eats as needed, not toilet issues.
I cannot afford to bring him to the vet until the end of next month but he is licking away his skin. I've tried oatmeal baths, acv topical, according internal (small add to food) with no results. Getting worse.
In essence: what should I do? I have Lyme sulfur for dips in the mail but don't even know if I should use this.
It started off with irritation on the back of his legs and now is across his stomach. No hair loss other than what he pulls out. Treated for mites and fleas, as well as house.. No effect. Scabs and bumps are getting worse. His diet etc was monitored and changed by a bet that improved GI function 4 months ago. Changing primary food does not help. Removed all cleaners from house and scoured with non-toxic pet friendly cleaners.
Could someone please let me know what I can do to at very least alleviate his itching? I've done oatmeal baths and they help for maybe 24hrs. I can see a vet at end of July but am at my wits end. I clean his entire litter box and nesting areas thoroughly and it helps but doesn't fix. Any ideas?
