We are going thru a heat weave for a couple of days of 100 degrees and more ( unusual for Oregon weather)and I noticed that my cat doesn't have that much energy. He eats, drinks water and goes to the bathroom as normal but he is not to much into playing. We also have air conditioning so its not that hot in the house but I really can feel the heat so I can't even imagine it if I would have a body full of hair. Could his lock of energy be because of this heat?
Thank you.

Oh, yes. My cat gets the same way if it's hot outside, despite his being an indoor cat. If it gets really hot, he sleeps on the bathmat, it's a gel mat, so it probably feels pretty good. For him, anyway, the humidity plays a role as well. But sitting in a hot window too--must be like sitting next to a heating vent in the summer! (How he does this I don't know!)

You might want to put a cube of ice in his water. Cats seem to like their water nice and chilly. [emoji]128570[/emoji]

Hope the weather turns a little cooler for you soon!

It's totally normal. My boys are so slowed down by the heat that most times they don't even go outside when the door is open. They just lay on the ground and basically melt.
If he is not free fed (meaning he has meal times) you can add a bit of water to his food to make sure he stays well hydrated. It's fine as long as the food doesn't stay out for more than 20 minutes or so.
