I just got a kitten. He's 8 weeks old. It says on his health record that he has been dewormed with Milbermax and it says "stool test asap"

I called a vet and the receptionist said that if he's been dewormed then there's no need for a stool test. I am confused. Should i get it done or not? Also, the shelter told me that the kitten has been exposed to respiratory infection (and all the other cats in their care have been too).....but i am taking him for a vaccine next month anyway (and i think the vet will do a check up before vaccine), should i still take him to the vet now for a wellness check-up?

That is a good option. You can never really trust the previous owners or know to trust them.

I always make an appt ASAP for a meet & greet with the vet and a thorough look over.
