I thought she did two pushes before I got up to the bathroom, where her whole belly "heaves". She hasn't done that since we got back. It's quite dark and I don't want to disturb her by shining a light but she keeps lifting her leg with contractions.... I'm sure it will be soon? When to worry? Very strong contractions.....I'm sure she will do just fine.... But when in the heat of the moment it's hard to not worry!

I know it's hard not to worry. She will hopefully push a kitten out soon!

She just keeps alternating between purring and breathing real fast during contractions and being totally silent but panting between them. If I take my hand off her she sits up and pokes her head out until I pet her again. Contractions feel strong but babies still feel quite high? Never had so many doubts about our fosters before. She's not licking her rear end at all. I don't see anything. Should I try to go to sleep for a few hours and see what happens?

I came out of the closet and she got up and followed. Jumped up on the dresser. I'm so confused. I was sure we were minutes away from a kitten 2 hours ago.

Seriously.

My shoulder is numb. I'm so exhausted. I'm going to lay in bed...... She followed again. She's under my bed now. I'm sure I will hear kitten meows eventually tonight.....I just can't stay awake. I'm a nurse and have to be at work at 730am and I'm running on 2hrs sleep already.

It sounded to me like she was ready to have a kitten too. Cats can stall labor though. Maybe she will have the kittens if you go to bed. This is very confusing, I agree.

I really don't get it. Had 2 hours sleep. Nothing. She's laying in the hall, now she's had a drink. No kittens. Something isn't sitting right here. Will get up in a minute and see if she goes back to the neat or if she's still having contractions but she was definitely in hard labour and now it's 4am with nothing to show for it.

I stayed with her a short time at 4am and she began having contractions again after about 5min. I went back to bed and she stayed in the nest so I was hopeful. Got up at 630am and she was asleep on the dresser. As soon as I woke up she bolted for the closet. I had to get to work and I can't take today off. So now I'm a wreck. We are about 10 hours into labour (on and off). I'm at work. She's at home. My 13 year old son will go over this morning (he's at his dad's) and stay with her. But I want and need to be there. I really feel she is stopping her labour everytime I leave her. Will she eventually resume whether I am there or not? I'm so worried for both her and the kittens right now. I'm stuck at work until 2pm, we are short staffed. I may be able to get out at lunchtime. Please just cross your fingers this all turns out ok. I've never been worried about our foster mamas before. Something hasn't sat right with me for a week about Millie.

Oh my, what a night you and Millie have had. Please update us when you can.

I pray everything goes ok,  and your son is able to help her if she delivers today while you are at work. I know you must be worried.

Have spoken to the vet all morning via email; he wanted me to bring her in for assessment after work. Spoke to my son 2x; afterI hung up with him at 1030 he called back 5min later, she had delivered 2 kittens!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 black, 1 grey w/white strips, he says (hard to see) Awaiting the third. When he called me the kittens were being cleaned and cords were chomped; so I can only assume she ate the placentas. So excited but stuck at work until noon!!!! Thank you SO much for all of your support and advice! Will update soon!!!! :)

Hallelujah! I believe she wanted to wait for you - or maybe wanted you to wait for her - but Mother Nature intervened.

This is good news! :)

3rd kitten here, all 3 within 15min!!! Holy moly! One black, 1 white with gray patches, 1 black with gray patches (or maybe white hairs, hard to tell!) will sex and weigh them when I get home in an hour!!! SO relieved!!!!! So sad that I wasn't there (especially after 2 sleepless nights) but would much rather all kittens born safe and sound and miss it, than be there!
