Got him as a kitten exactly 11 years ago and this just started happening today. Anyone know whats wrong? I dont know if this has anything to do with it but for the past year he is always hungry and will eat just about anything you throw in his face. Thats after 10 years of being very picky with his food. Thanks

I would agree, it could be anything, and only a professional can tell you what once he or she has hands on with this cat. His age is a determining factor for internal problems and needs to be seen quickly I am afraid.

Your kitty needs to see your vet ASAP. Weakness in the hind legs and balance problems can signal anything from a potassium deficiency relating to renal failure, to heart disease (such as a blood clot), to central nervous system disorders, to diabetes, to a toxicity of some sort. Don't take risks, get kitty to the nearest ER vet immediately for full testing, a full blood profile (this should be done annually on any kitty over the age of 7).........................Traci
