I was walking home and saw a little black cat not sure how old or what gender but I was petting the cat and it was rubbing against my legs when all of a sudden it bit my calf, there a tiny little scratch and a little sort of hole where I think a tooth may have penetrated the skin but I'm not sure
Should I be worried?
And if so about what?
I'm not a big cat fan but do stop to pet them every now and then
The cat wasn't collared so I don't know if it was stray or anything
Any help would be greatly appreciated xxx

Sounds like the cat got overstimulated... you should just keep an eye on it and if it starts forming pus or anything go to the hospital. Make sure you clean the area really good. I honestly wouldn't recommend petting stray cats and other animals that don't know you. Just friendly advice. :) I hope your wound heals up ok.

Yes, if it starts getting red, warm to the touch, etc., please go to a doctor immediately. Cat bites aren't something to fool around with.

:yeah: You don't have to worry about rabies where you live, but a cat bite can become infected easily. If you have the above symptoms, a trip to A&E might be necessary.

It's probably nothing but you should go to the ER to get your bite patched up and they'll also probably give you some shots, just in case.

The cat needs to be caught and quarantined for 10 days to exclude the possibility of rabies.
They won't quarantine, they will put the cat down and send it off to a lab. I  seriously doubt any rabies as I think the cat probably got too excited or static burnt. I think as the others said, as long as you keep it clean and watch for any sign of infection, you should be alright. I usually wash my scrapes/bites,etc in alcohol and then put neosporin on it.
