hey all! I was just recently approached by a coworker that is attempting to rehome a new liter of kittens. I have agreed to take one so I would love to know what breed it is. The pictures are a bit fuzzy but show the colors at least. It also has bright blue eyes.

Thank you!

The pattern is called for a point,  the coloration is black - so he is a seal point.   As he is Seal point, he will get even darker with time, may become almost all black as senior citizen.

You may perhaps compare him to be a look alike fo old type siamese if  you wish.   If he turns to have medium hair as adult, your choice will be ragdoll or balinese.

His real breed?  He is almost surely domestic.   Compare him with his siblings, and his parents if you know whom they are...   As you see, his littermate is all black, so its the same basic color which he himself has him too.   I m sure at least one of their parents is black, and I dont think any is a tabby.

Points are a nice twist of nature.  The parents dont needs at all to be pointed.  Its enough they are carriers of the point ("siamese mix") gene.

If two such carriers meets - voilá, in the litter of whatever looks, we do get one kitten whom is a point.   Not seldom its a look alike of old type siamese.   Such happens for example now and then in the Russian Blue breed - because they used a couple of  blue pointed siameses in the breeding programmes back in the late 1940:es....   These genes are still flooating around in the total gene population of  RB, even if the breeders do avoid to breed on known bearers of the point gene.

So, dont hesitate.  Do everyone a favor and adopt this splendid young kitten.

A tip: most cats do prefer to have a cat companion.  So in practice, its easier to have two cats than just one...

Adopt also another of the littermates...  Or even one of the parents.

Thank you so much for your response! We were very curious if it had any sort of Siamese in him due to his markings.

We currently have two furbabies- one ocicat mix and a tabby. We weren't looking to adopt again but as soon as we saw the cute baby we instantly fell in love and knew he would be the perfect addition. This situation is a bit strange- the kitty is on a farm with 80 year olds as the owners.  We dont know if the kitty is male or female(have been calling it a he and named it Simon) & he has had no human interaction as of yet. If he is approached he runs so catching him is going to prove to be a challenge. I am super excited to tame him and provide him with an amazing life! Also super excited for the challenge he is going to be :) We do know that his mom is black with small white spots- dad is unknown. The mom had a large liter- 8 kittens! This one is the only one that turned out with these markings- the other kittys are all black and white.

Thanks again for your input and I will most definitely plan on becoming very active on this site!

I see.  So if the mom and kittens are de facto semiferale, it is an advantage to take the kittens NOW, not waiting to the usual absolute minimum age of 8 weeks, preferably 12...

They are easier to socialize completely as max 8 weeks...   Later on its of course still fully possible, but is more difficult, and the socialization will perhaps not be fully.

An older socialized semi-ferale will be a nice family cat, all right. but will remain shy to strangers and visitiors.

I myself dont see any problems with it, one of my residents is such a one.   But quite a few wants their cats sociale and friendly to everyone.

This situation, with adoption home waiting, and the kittens with a shy semiferale mom, is one of the few exceptions of the usual "minimum 8 weeks" rule.

That is great news to us! We have been VERY impatiently waiting to bring him home - he is currently about 7 weeks old (exact DOB is unknown to me). I will call my coworker and discuss bringing him home this weekend. She does tell me he is still depending on mom for feeding so looks like we will have to provide him with milk and then transition him over to dry food ourselves. Thumbs up for more bonding opportunities! Thanks again for offering so much knowledge/guidance

Goat milk is good, much better for cats than cow milk, so dont bother to get kmr, if you can get full fat goat milk.   Raw goat milk is even better, but bottled or cartonned, full fat, is OK too.

And if he doesnt need all, you can yourself use it in coffe, for example.
