Hello! I got my cat neutered today. They told me everything went fine. The only problem was that he was a bit cranky getting into the carrier when I was picking him up. I got home and I knew the anesthesia will have him a little odd. He was scared of everything. I expected that because he usually is only it was just amplified. I fed him a little and he drank some water. Then he went on to lick but I did not let him. That's when I noticed the area where his testicles were was blood stained and some fur was also blood stained. I don't remember my first cat looking like that so I called the clinic. They told me to bring him in tomorrow since it was almost 7 and I believe they were closing. He's not bleeding profusely and I'm keeping a 24/7 watch on him because he wants to lick the incision! I have a collar that I tried putting him on but he just freaked out so much I had to let him go fearing he'd bleed a lot. I had the littler box ready just in case he needs to use the rest room. All he did was lay in it. So I took him so none of the littler can irritate the area. My question is - how long will it take for him to pee? He's very restless. I'm surprised he doesn't want to sleep. Thanks!

Edit: I forgot to mention that he is 1 year old.

My cat was very aggitated after his neuter.  I think it's the response to the anesthesia.  I'd just leave him alone, keep an eye on him, but don't pester him.  Once he starts drinking again, he should start urinating.  My little guy licked and licked and licked himself all over when he got home because he didn't smell right, I'm guessing.

Yes I haven't done much but just stop him when he starts licking the incision area. He just ate again as well. I haven't checked to see if there's any more blood coming out. I just don't like that the area where his testicles is super

Thanks for checking up! He finally got some rest because I don't think he slept last night. He's been laying down since he ate breakfast at 630. I just saw the incision since he started to lick around there. One side is a little red I'm assuming from the little blood that came out but nothing is oozing out and he's not meowing in pain. I decided to not take him to the clinic because it would've been much more stress on him and he wasn't bleeding anymore. I'm starting to think I made a mountain out of a mole. He did pee though. Twice already and he pooped last night. He's drinking water fine and of course eating happily. If anything abnormal happens then I'll take him to the vet straight away. :)

I didn't know if I should post another thread so I'll ask in here - update on kitty: he got diarrhea. It started Sunday afternoon and he still has some good today. I already gave a stool sample to the vet so I should know if there's any parasites/worms causing this but other than that I'm at a loss as to what to do. Aside from the diarrhea he's acting normal, he still has an appetite and drinks water and is playful. Incision looks like it's healing normally as well. :( so I'm not sure what's going on with the diarrhea

It could be a side effect of all the medication in his system.  Have you changed his food or anything?

No, no food change or anything. The vet called back today and said his stool was free of parasites and worms. I gave him some boiled chicken today. His appetite is normal and so is his behavior. I'm thinking I may go get some canned pumpkin since that seemed to work back when he was little and had diarrhea issues. I'll call the vet tomorrow to see what else I can do and if I have to bring him in.
