Has anyone heard or a hormone shot for over grooming

My cat is having major hairball issues this season. The vet thinks he is over grooming due to stress and wants to give a hormone shot. He takes predisone for ibd right now.
The vet said he should be ok but I never had any expierence with this and can't see my o find a lot of info in it

I haven't heard of that.  Have you tried any other types of calming agents such as Feliway, Rescue Remedy, or some of the Spirit Essences from Jackson Galaxy?

Spirit Essences are flower remedies. I've not used Spirit Essences as I can't easily get them here, but I have had great success using Bach's Flower Remedies with animals. Spirit Essences are pre made blends, which is easier than making your own Bach's blends. A lot of people here have found them really helpful.
