Aww, great pics. Funny question, but do you sweep/vacuum daily or multiple times a day? Your place is so clean! :)

Needless to say that your pics are so wonderful because your "monsters" are extraordinarily beautiful!
Of course, hats off to the photographer!

That's what I like about saving an animal from the streets. You never know what you're gonna get. It might be a pure breed, or a mixed breed. Mixed breeds are often so precious, cause they are one of a kind. Either way, you might rescue a poor, "damaged" little soul and with love and care, it can turn out to be a "drop dead beautiful" and strong creature. And THAT'S what people who don't adopt them miss out. It's their loss.

I say, it was better they didn't get adopted by others, because they got in your hands and you did what was right for them.

Regarding Sun, I think your actions speak for you a lot more than anyone can speak. What I might say, will not be enough. I just love "meeting" people who really devote to defenceless animals

Tthank you for your comments! :)

@Bonitababy: I sweep daily first thing in the morning, at least most days. Some days I just don't have time. I fully clean the place once a week. It's mostly just the fur on the floor that needs to go quickly, haha!

@GrizzlySapien Thank you so much for your kind words! Every animal is beautiful, it's true that people who think that shelter pets are not are missing out. Though 2 of my 3 are a specific breed (which is another thing thing too many people don't realize. Shelters are full of "pure bred" pets too!), I'm a true lover of mutts and believe the most stunning kitties and doggies are mixed breeds.

@Schrody  yes, shelters are packed with pure breeds. At least what I witness here in Greece (which is kind of the Metropolis of neglecting strays - sad but true), there are pure breeds roaming the streets and kept in shelters (in not-so-suitable conditions). And the reason it happens is the following:

People think they're making a statement (?), or try to show off (?) their social status when purchasing a Dogo Argentino, or Pit Bull Terrier, or a Rottweiller and so on.. What they don't realize, is that pure breeds are not only expensive to purchase (from a trusted breeder at least), but there is substantial cost for vet expense, specialized diet, training etc.. And of course, large breeds, like the ones I mentioned, are "raising the stakes" even more..

So, it's when they actually "get down and dirty" that they realize that having a pure breed is no walk in the park. And with the current economy state in my country...? Who will spend all that money "on a dog"?? That's how they see it.. So, instead of making the effort to rehome them, they just abandon them, defenceless, with no ability to care for themselves to find food, no care, no guilt!

The ones that are "lucky enough" to be discovered and taken to a shelter, OK.. they at least have a roof over their head and food-water.. There are others that are even luckier to be discovered by people who don't trust shelters, so they rehome or adopt them.. But the latter is the most rare case scenario..

Rehoming a pure breed like a Pit Bull Terrier, or Rotweiller is a challenge. 'Cause you need to find a parent that won't end up using it on dog fights.. So, they're may be more "nominees" but the selection of the proper one, is the catch!

Please, excuse the size of my reply, but obviously I feel very strongly about some issues..

@Schrody.. again.. such a clean house! WOW! It's like you live in a showroom or something! LOL

Yes, it is very sad for the dogs and totally unethical for people that "get tired" of their pet.. I still can't figure out how that can happen.

Another thing that happens, here in Greece - again due to the economic crisis (not trying to raise any political discussion - just need to state the facts), is that many Greeks decide, or are forced to move to other countries to work. They make the arrangements and BOOM: at the last minute they find out that the breed they have as a pet is forbidden in those countries. Especially the ones with Pit Bull Terriers and mixed breeds... Apparently those 2 categories fall into the banned ones, in those countries. I think in Germany, UK and Denmark? Not sure 100%. Please forgive me, if I'm wrong.

So most of the "owners" end up abandon their pets. One reason is because they don't have the time to find a proper family to rehome them. Others, don't even bother, so they leave them on the streets.. Other owners just leave them at a shelter hoping that their pets, some day will be rehomed properly.. The result?

Too many "Pits" roaming on the streets, in bad shape, hungry, terrified, thus aggressive.. They end up biting someone and get euthanized (since no one can claim them). Also, mixed breeds, that no one cares about, they look like strays.. Not like "former pets".. Again in bad shape, terrified... and so on.. Many of them end up dead by a car or some human's cruelty..

So few of them have successfully been rehomed or fostered..

Beautiful! Your pictures are so sharp and clear and the boys both have wonderful colouring.

I love Schrody's slightly cross-eyed gaze. My pointed boy, Albert has eyes that do that too.
