Yeah, she doesn't want to be around any of them. Even our rat terrier who she really got along with.

Does anyone know what color the mucus plug is? She is licking her rear end a lot now, rapidly and I actually saw 4 outlines of kittens. 2 on each side of her. So not less then four kittens. her stomach has actually dropped, because today she looks slightly skinnier.

The mucus plug can be a variety of colors. LOL So long as it doesn't look like pus, bloody or smell bad . . .  BTW if it does call your vet right away.

Alright, just making sure to be prepared. She has been licking her rear end for almost 10 minutes and grooming herself a lot. I haven't been able to see very well if her vulva is dialated, b/c of it or she could have cleaned herself right after the mucus plug came out. This morning she was pretty vocal. Other then that she is still sleeping and hanging out.

I think you have a little time.  When she is in labor she will be restless and very uncomfortable.  She will also begin panting.  Some cats will use the litter box a lot before going into labor (might be part of prelabor) as the body prepares to give birth.

Yeah she does lick that area more then the average cat. So do you think it is the mucus plug? I took a pic(just in case) and also looked it up on google. the one online, looks like the one of my cat.(fingerscrossed!)

I was joking. All pregnant cats lick a lot. Probably the mucus plug. Sounds like it.

Yeah, lol. It was stringy(this is the weirdest conversation I've had) when does labor start? And when do the contractions kick in?

Well, it could be soon, or it could be a day or more. Not what you want to hear, but it's just not an exact science. It usually happens not too long after though.

We talk a lot about bodily functions on this site. Goes with the territory! ;)

Is anyone up? My cat "Gato" I think just went into early labor, she is definitely having contractions, and I'm so nervous!

She just had the first kitten! And also the placenta came after. Her motherly instincts kicked right in and she now has a grey/black kitten. Can't really help cuz she's under a bed and she won't come out.

If I were you I'd wait until some time after the kittens were born. You wouldn't want to intrudeon her in the middle of labour. I'm about to be inyour position, actually. Granola's in early labour right now. Good luck!

Good luck to you and granola! She just had the second one and it looks like she's got it handled. I'm near her, but not to close to disturb her, just in case.[emoji]128521[/emoji]
