Oh my gosh! I'll show the picture to polka and then she won't feel so self conscious. She feels so bad about her weight right now. Hormonal and all that.

My cat threw in the towel on her figure. She's eaten so much kitten food she almost looks pregnant! But she was spayed when they were 8 weeks old, so that's not happening again. She was a stray I rescued in February.

Lol! Polka is getting spayed 10 weeks after kitties are born. My original plan was spay and release her because I've never known a feral cat to really enjoy being inside. Many times, the kittens I've received have been the product of a feral mother that was either killed, sick, or injured and I've noticed the fear of people and desire to be outside even passes down to the kittens. Even when I receive the kittens at a week or 2 old, they sometimes don't adjust well. But polka, she was meant to be inside. She likes the life of luxury and canned food so I'm going to keep her. So, on a serious note, my siblings and my aunt have started a bet on when polka will give birth. You said hard belly=kittens soon. Generally how soon usually? Within a day? 3 days? Week? 25.00 in my pocket would be nice! Lolololol:clap:

I have no idea!  These cats just have to do things their way.  I vote for tomorrow after a good night's sleep

Lol! I think I'm going to stick with July 4th. I'll scoop up some cute props and they'll have adorable birth photos and I'll have 25.00 dollars.

Well, usually hard labor begins within 48 hours of losing the mucus plug. Polka lost hers earlier today, so maybe it will be "Independence Day" after all.

What are your relatives betting?

My sister is betting tomorrow. My aunt is saying Sunday. My brother also wants to bet July 4th and my older sister wants tomorrow as well. So we had to narrow our times down.
Younger sister says tomorrow AM
older sister says tomorrow PM
I say July 4th AM
Brother says July 4th PM
My aunt says July 5th PM

With our luck, she will give birth July 5th AM, And everyone will just keep their $5.

That's a good spread! I like it.

I'm with you for July 4th AM.

This will be fun for everyone but Polka.

What's that she said? "My name's Polka - not POKER!" ;)

Polka is still taking her sweet time, which is okay since my money is on tomorrow. :) however, she stood up a few minutes ago and dripped a small puddle. Very small, about the size of a quarter, plus a few smaller drips as she walked away. It was much thinner than her mucous plug yesterday and completely clear. She was completely unphased by it and continued on her way to the living room.

I would react much more urgently if my water were leaking! She was just so nonchalant, like, well, I'll go sit somewhere dry til that gets cleaned up. At first I thought she peed but it didn't have a smell.

Okay. If she has them after midnight, it counts as July 4th AM, and you win! :)

Exactly! No contractions yet though. She's even sleeping for probably 95% of the day. When she's not sleeping, she's eating. No surprise there!
