The dancing banana seems to have a good kick.

:banana2: :banana2: :banana2: :banana2:

Okay, maybe not.
Lol! I love you guys so much. So helpful and you crack me up. If I hadn't had everyone's help on here through polkas pregnancy, I don't know what I would have done. I certainly wouldn't be opening a rescue. I wasn't even going to get Chanel until you guys gave me the big push, which I'm so grateful for. Maybe you guys should have the honor of naming Chanel's firstborn.

This is such a positive thread despite all the heartache that's gone on, it's wonderful to see such amazing things developing from your experiences.

I'm not sure about offering out the naming of Chanel's first born, heehee.  Goodness, so far we have Kickachu and Bruce Lee/ah.

Good news! Chanel is eating again. She's just being very stubborn and trying to hold out for treats. If I don't give in, she eats what she has been given. Stubborn little stinker. She is getting so big. Each day she is visibly larger. I've noticed she's almost become obsessive about grooming also. All hair around her nipples is completely gone and she licks her abdomen so much that her hair is thinning out across her entire belly.

Bad news! I found a juvenile flea on Mona. I am doing dawn baths on all 4 young cats today and treating all our carpets and furniture with flea spray. Will pick up more capstar for all 4 adults on Monday. I'm hoping we just had a few stragglers from our previous flea treatment this week. I only found the 1 flea but I highly doubt that's the only 1 there is.

Probably eggs that hatched. It's so hard to get everything. The re-treatment should do it.

I have an odd situation. When polka had her babies last month by c section, they spayed her at that time. Her uterus ruptured so even if I hadn't requested the spay, it would have been necessary. However, polka started acting in heat tonight. She's crawling around the floor, howling, haunches up...... I've never had a spayed cat act in heat. What is going on???

I wonder if they left her ovaries. You'll need to call them and have a little discussion. They should be able to see on a scan if the ovaries are intact.

Geez ...

She'll probably need follow-up surgery to finish the job. This is upsetting.

I'll be ticked if they charged me out the rear, let polkas kittens die AND decided to take some stupid shortcut on her spay procedure.

I hope not. They'll be doing it for free even if it means going to court to get my money back.

Well, they either left her ovaries intact or enough ovarian tissue that she's having an estrus cycle. There's no other explanation that I know of.

I would not trust them with Polka again. I would get Polka looked at by your vet who you do trust, and if she needs another surgery, I would consider legal action against the emergency clinic to get some money back.

I would also wait a few weeks and see if she continues having heat cycles. Since she's still lactating her hormones may be crazy right now.

I don't think it would affect Polka since they don't interact. They are completely separate from each other.
