Yesterday our installer came and took off all the backsplash, did the template for the granite. We went to his shop the other day and saw the big slab of granite and liked it a lot. He had brought us a small sample and pictures, but you really need to see the whole piece. Upgraded the backsplash (another $200). But it should look really nice.

Here is a picture of my messy kitchen after he left yesterday. Now I need to do some major de-cluttering so the countertops will look better.

Will poster "after" pics when the job is completed.

I'm sure it will look beautiful afterwards.  Looking forward to seeing the new granite and backsplash.

Good luck, Lana! What's the name of your granite? Any colors in it?

Yes, pictures when it's done!

Don't know the name of the granite (I will check), but it's sort of a white background with greyish swirls going thru it. Very simple and not overdone. The backsplash is horizontal lines with a touch of burgundy and gray. He had showed is the square mosaic tiles but we liked the horizontal lines a lot better. Anxious to get this done and straighten out the kitchen and "declutter" since it's such a small space.

Your backsplash sounds very nice, Lana. I don't care much for the square mosaic tiles either...they're nice, but they look kind of busy to me. My sister bought them as backsplash for her kitchen, but ended up returning them bc they didn't go with her countertop.
