Can a kitten get pee on its back!?!

My kitten just came out of who knows where and his back was soaking wet - and it smelled like urine! The weird thing is, he had not gone in his box, and he has never had an accident before. I can't find evidence of pee anywhere either...?

The only thing I can think of is if he peed on a tile floor, then layed down and his fur soaked it up.  Either that or if you have a little human boy, he peed on him
(half joking....you never know about little boys)
