Hi all,

My kitten is about 14 weeks old and recently I noticed some super smelly gas from him. I've had him for about 3 weeks now. He was going to be tested for worms next Tuesday but I can submit it sooner. The smell changes though, it's not always the same exact smell so I think it might be food related since he doesn't get the same flavor of can every day. The person I adopted him from wasn't particularly informed and fed him adult Purina One smart blend sensitive stomach. I've been switching him to Merrick kitten dry (which he is completely on) and Merrick canned (no seafood.)

He has no access to other food or table scraps. He has a water fountain and I see him drink from it often. He doesn't have diarrhea and goes on a regular basis. It's just the smell.

One of our cats had a lot of smelly gas right after we adopted her, too. (She was about ten months old at the time.) She's had far, far less flatulence ever since we took potato, a common filler in canned and dried foods, out of the cats' diet. (She apparently a sensitivity to potato: it also seemed to make her vomit.)

Lots of things -- beyond specific foods or worms -- can cause gas, though, so good luck!
