Almost 12 days ago a wild young mother cat put her babies in our boat for safety. They were wobbly then still blue eyes but i fed y hem watered kitten wet f ood they ate it now she has them under our building where i watch them play. I see them still nursing as nd they want come to me but attentively watch me. They are growing fast. The H Society is willing to trap mother dpay and release her if not sociable back to us. How do we get the kittens? I am pretty ure t hey are 6 wks t least now. Eyes still blue. Lots of fleas for sure. Society will help but how long before we should take them.

You may be able to tae the kittens by offering them food and treats and getting a play toy like a feather on a long fishing pole type stick for them to chase.  If you have time, that will work.  To be adoptable they reall need some indoor fostering and handling.  Ask the Humane Society about what age they would take them, if they would.  We caught some last year by getting them used to us being around and then dropped a towel on each of them.  They spent a long time in foster care, living with dogs and even a ferret that played with them.  They still were shy with new people.  We got them eutered/spayed and eventually they were fine as pets, a little shy, but happy and sweet.  Some depens on the cat or kitten, though, as some are very feral no matter what you do, and others are quite friendly once they get to trust you.  Do talk to the humane society some more for guidane.  They might spay and neuter the kittens and return them to you if they were too wild.

You shall take them as soon you can manage it now.  As they are still in a good age for easy socialization, after 8 weeks it will be more difficult.

So you take them now, and foster as well you can. and when they are ready and of a good adoption age, the Society will help you with the adopting out.

This is one of the few exception for the usual recommendation to let the kittens be with mom till at least they are 8 weeks, as absolute minimum.  IF you do have a good fostering home waiting, or good adoption homes lined up, the age 5-6 weeks is good.

Dont be sorry.  For the cat moms its the welfare of her children which is most important, not the "freedom" as such.   I want to believe the mom understands they were catched for fostering and good homes, not for killing.   At least, her soul do knows.

Tx for caring and helping these, mom and kittens.
