I had posted about my kitty, Shadow, going missing and then questioning if it was to soon to bring another into the home since she hadn't returned yet.  Well I had gotten in touch with a local place in the area I'm at and found a picture of a cat that just called to me.  Well, she's now in the home and her name is Francine (aka Frack and we've started calling her Frannie).  She's the cutest thing and we're in love with her!  She will be in our home for a trial week and then will go from there after and should have her fully in our home.

This is the picture of her that I fell in love with.

Here are a few pictures that I took of her over the weekend:

But have had some concern since her coming into our home.  She's been hacking often and only for a few hours during the day and then she seems to be ok.  It's almost like a hairball and I had contacted the gal who brought her over and she was in touch with someone else through the place she's with and had suggested the mineral oil, pumpkin and hairball paste (which I'm using cat lax from the local vet's place).  That has been going on since about Friday or Saturday and nothing as of yet.  After reading some of the comments in a different thread,  I'm beginning to wonder if it is truly a hairball and not asthma or something else.  I've contacted the gal that brought her over via text as well as the foster that she was living with to see what she was like there with her on if she was doing anything like that.  So will see what they say on what will happen.  If it is something like asthma, I'm not going to say I don't want her as I'll do what I can to help her and still take her in at the end of the trial period, if they feel that she will be well taken care of in our home ... which of course she would be completely taken care of (the gal that brought her over contacted the vet place I took her to to make sure I had taken care of Shadow and they let her know that I had taken her in for her yearly shots and also just a few months ago when she had the UTI issue).

She is very beautiful. Hope it's not a serious health issue and your other cat returns soon. More cats = more love to give and receive.

Good luck  :)
I hope it isn't either.  Am waiting to see what the gal thinks and go from there.  I'm hoping that she'll come and take her to their vet to get checked out to see what might be the problem.  If not, I'll certainly take her in to get checked out once I know what will be going on.  It'll have to be after I get home from babysitting and am glad that the vet in town is open after 5 my time.

I have been hoping and wishing she would as well.  I agree and am not sure how they'd get along with how they've seemed when seeing another cat outside that's gotten close to the window.  Neither seemed to like it.

New introductions of any pet just need time, so should Shadow return, just watch hem, seperate if required, treat both equal, seperate litter trays may be needed, as well as seperate feeding dishes/areas. hopefully they would bond soon and keep you a very busy and contented owner.
Very true and totally agree with you.  That is what I had been thinking and planning of doing if/when it would come to that point.  That's some of the things I've remembered reading in various places as well as with watching Jackson Galaxy as well.

She's gorgeous!  The hacking could be due to stress and maybe the air in your home is drier than she's used to.  If she'll let you brush her, do it daily to help with hairballs.  Also, be sure to feed her some wet food as that helps keep the hair ingested keep moving smoothly.

Have thought of the air as well.  The gal that brought her over said that if smoke in the house that it could cause it as well. Yea I smoke but I don't do it inside and go outside to do it.  The gal that was fostering her I guess they fed her a bit more of people food so she's got a bit of weight on her, which we've not given her some until tonight, which was a bit of chicken without the skin.  She seems a bit touchy when try to touch her sides and belly areas so trying to brush has been a slow go of it.  Have been playing with her to get her to move around and do feed her moist food twice daily as well as dry food, but do make sure that she's got fresh water.  She's a bit silly as she'll pull some of the dry food into the water bowl.  So any time I've seen it get a bit nasty from her doing that I'll change it.  I am babysitting during the week and think my mom does that as well in changing it.

I came up with a solution that helps my cat exercise and have fun at the same time. I bought a couple of those rubber treat balls in the dogs section, so I can put treats or dry food (one at a time for filling) and Charlee loves batting it around and chasing it til the food falls out.
