Today has been a hectic day that is not done yet, so pardon me if I make this announcement short: Wild Callings Rabbit cat food in 5.5 oz cans--batch # 1415E24WCUO2--is problematic. I will explain.

I have had my allergic cat Grady on the rabbit version of this single protein product for a few months. The cans in the first few cases of Wild Callings Rabbit I purchased consisted of a large circle of meat with a nice helping of gravy around it--and my cat loved it. Then, a few weeks back, I got another case in which the cans were more like commercial food, fully mixed and of one consistency. Though I was concerned, the product smelled okay (not that I am a rabbit eater, so how would I know!) so I continue to feed him the food, as per usual.

Then, in the past two weekend days, he backed off his food completely.

Grady is a large cat (10.5 lbs at 15 months) and normally has a great appetite, so course this raised my concerns higher. I came here on to the Cat Site and read all I could on Wild Callings. I found out that Evanger's--the notorious canning company who has been in hot water with the FDA over past sins of messing with cat food ingredients, was the packer of both the rabbit and buffalo; the remainder of their line is produced elsewhere. So I thentocalled the company with my concern, and told them about the inconsistencies in the product. They told me NOT to feed it to my cat, as the meat with gravy surrounding the rabbit is the way the cans should all appear, and that the mixed "commercial-looknig" product was not correct.

I then called the store that sold it to me and advised them of the lot number and problem (they had themselves just received an entire truck load of the stuff) and I am now in the process of trying to rethink my poor cat's entire eating dilemma.

I'm going fully raw diet--I've had enough! But for you still feeding Wild Calling brand, be aware of this situation that exists with this product--please!
