I was on Amazon this morning reordering my supply of FortiFlora when I ran across this product.  It sounds SO MUCH BETTER than FortiFlora
.  So....I ordered it instead.  Hope I'm not shooting myself in the foot
.  Callie is such a picky eater, and with her kidney disease it's already hard enough to get her to eat
, but I can usually get her to finish her servings (lately anyway), if I sprinkle some FortiFlora on the last bit in her bowl.  I'm about half way thru a box now, so figured since I was ordering something else I should take advantage of free shipping, BUT...just couldn't resist this new stuff.  Guess if she doesn't take to it, probably the boys will

Here's what it says about the Advita:

  • Contains guaranteed amounts of four different live, active cultures and pre-biotic inulin
  • Helps maintain a healthy immune system and promotes intestinal microbial balance and health
  • Is highly palatable for cats in an easy-to-tear package for pet owners
  • Is micro-encapsulated for better stability.
  • Contains Vitamins A, E, and C and Taurine
.Ingredients

Dried poultry liver, dried Enterococcus faecium fermentation product, dried Lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation product, dried Lactobacillus casei fermentation product, dried Bacillus coagulans fermentation product, maltodextrin, dicalcium phosphate, silicon dioxide, salt, inulin, ascorbic acid, vitamin A acetate, vitamin E supplement, zinc proteinate, manganese proteinate, ferrous sulfate, copper proteinate, and sodium selenit.

Plus, it's actually a little less expensive than the FortiFlora.  But, of course, the best part about it is - NO animal Digest!    I'm kind of excited to try it out and will let you know the results.

It sounds really interesting but just took a look on Amazon UK and Zooplus and don't think we can get the cat one here in UK.   I'll try and take a better look on other suppliers later.

OH WOW! Sally - I hadn't heard of Advita and I love that it doesn't have animal digest. YES - :anon: I still use this for my picky princess to get her to eat even her canned food on some days. I am planning on ordering! Can't wait to hear how Callie does with it. :cross: :cross: ;)

She likes it!   Miss Picky, Callie, actually likes it.   And Tinky, who will NOT eat FortiFlora, seems interested in this too
.  He hasn't actually needed any toppers yet, but if he does, I'll try it.  I did let him sniff the opened package, and he was definitely interested

:high5: That is GREAT to hear, Sally!! Way to go Miss Callie! :rub: So - today I am making an order from Amazon and this is on my list. I will report here as well after I receive the Advita to let you know if the Queen of Picky likes it. :cross:

Keeping my fingers crossed that Perla will love it, or at the minimum, at least like it

Big bomb out for :princess: Perla. Can you believe it???!!! I can....... it's my life with my angel. :lol2: All of the other cats go crazy for Advita. Just not the one I bought it for. Nope - Fortiflora is the only topper I have ever found that works for her. I may keep trying the Advita and use it on something she already loves - like Weruva Mack and Jack which she only gets once a week for one meal. I am just curious to do an experiment to see if she would still eat her most favorite with the Advita lightly sprinkled on top. ;)

Maybe you could try putting on the Advita, then topping it with FortiFlora to get her used to the taste?  I don't know.  Our little princesses are quite difficult, that's for sure.  Sometimes Callie likes it, it really depends which food she's eating.  If it's beef, she likes FortiFlora, but if it's a milder food,  then the Advita works (sometimes).  Weird, right?  CATS!  Gotta love 'em

:flail: Using Fortiflora to get them to try another topper. YES - this goes beyond difficult. :lol3:

@mrsgreenjeens   Are you using the Advita just as a topper and not for the probiotics? If so, it might be the chicken liver in that they like since that is the main ingredient. A plain chicken liver powder product would probably be a lot cheaper than either Advita or Forti Flora.

Here's a chicken liver powder I have used as a topper:

I've also used freeze dried chicken liver that I processed into a powder in a food processor:

Stewart Freeze Dried Chicken Liver Treats

It's much stinker than the powder. My fuzzy boy really likes it.

I've used Stewarts before and it was a "no go" as a topper.  I like the additional ingredients in the Advita.  Figure if I'm going to use a topper, might as well have SOME additional benefits.  That's why i thought maybe Lauren could use FortiFlora to tempt Perla to like it

I added some Advita to my next Chewy autoship. Gracie occasionally gets the squirts first thing in the morning. She can go months without issues and then have two episodes within weeks of each other. She looks so pitiful when it happens because it's loud  and messy. Been told that it's not food related which I didn't think it was because it happens 15-20 minutes after she wakes up so she hasn't eaten for 7 hours. Hopefully this will help and she will be squirt free from now on.
