I am new to this site, simply wished to introduce the household cat, Sulvek.

My sister and her friend found Sulvek as a kitten (maybe a month or two old) while they were out doing yard work. The kitten walked right up to them and was quite comfortable being held. The two noticed her tail was completely limp, she was very thin, and she had broken paw pads. The two teens brought her in and fed her what ever they could find as a supplement  since we didn't  have a cat already. My aunt wasn't thrilled with the news of this, but bought a litter box and cat food on her way home from work saying they were going to take it to a shelter as soon as possible (needless to say that didn't happen).

Sulvek is a domestic short-hair (not too sure about her specific type) with an amputated tail. She has been Spayed, and still has all of her claws, much to our aunts disapproval. Sulveks tail was damaged before we had her, but she had very little control of it, and has no feeling on her spine from about the middle of her hips on. Despite this she was active and playful, and has full functionality of everything else. The vet  advised to amputate the tail for her safety, so now she has a stub and is just as cute.

Sulvek shares the love and attention from us with my aunts 2 small dogs, a dachshund named Ollie,  a chihuahua named 'Lady' Killer (Killer is a gentlemen and only hurts flies) My sisters two rats Loki and Thor. Or as Sulvek thinks of them, The big hotdog I chase and shares his food, The one that growls, The mean bitey thingy, and The one that hides.

Sulvek has a special name. My sister wasn't sure what to name her as a kitten so she remained nameless for a good week or so my sister decided to play with some language translator from one of her video games. Sul-vek translates to com-fort. Which at the time, she lacked quite a bit of. Sulvek has continued to be true to her name and give comfort to those who need it. Even if that comfort is waking someone from a nightmare by invading ones nasal cavities...

Regardless Sulvek has proven to be a fantastic member of our family, and the gateway to knowledge and experiences nor me or my sister had known before.

If anyone has an idea of what her specific breeding might be I would love to hear it.

First picture of Sulvek, after it had been decided she was going to stay. As you can see her collar is a bit big for her.

Adorable picture of Sulvek sleeping on my sisters lap.

Another sleeping kitty, but she's a little older.

Sulvek the day after having her tail amputated.

Edit: As of November our aunt has moved out with her two dogs Ollie and Killer. Instead our Father has moved in and we now have two husky mutt brothers named Montrose and Oliver. It took some time but all three have learned to at least tolerate each other.

Welcome to you and beautiful Sulvek. What a story and how wonderful of you to make her a member of your family! I hope you can continue convincing her not to declaw Sulvek as this is a cruel process that involves amputating the joint, This is a great site and with lots of caring people who love, and know about cats!
