I agree with evamilly - call the rescue and tell them the situation. It would obviously be in the best interest of your boys to be back with you. Life happens and compassionate people will understand that. It might help to offer to pay the rescue for expenses. Good luck with this. I can really sympathize because I had to give up my three babies once when I lost my home and by the time I got settled again, they had all been adopted. I miss them very much and really wish you the best.
@Margd Thank you for your advice, I think it would only be right to offer the expenses to and if I can find the funds, make a donation towards the other kitties in their care! I'm very sorry to hear about what happened with you and your babies, I hope you know you done what was best for them at that time and the fact you went back shows how much you love them. I hope you are ok and that your babies are happy in their new homes.
Thanks @Rob11. I know they found good homes as I stayed in touch with the rescue that handled their adoptions. When i realized I couldn't get them back, I adopted a male and sister pair advertised right here on TCS and they have brought such joy to my life that it helps with the loss of my others. I think offering to volunteer and pay expenses should go a long way towards showing how serious you are about wanting your boys back and like I said earlier - obviously it is in their best interests to be back home with you. I hope you will keep us posted how it goes.
Good for you, I'm sure you will find one or two strays to adopt whilst you are volunteering! Glad you were able to find out that your boys have a happy home
