Or as it's known around here....PawPurr's Day. The furkids asked me to make sure I bought a card for "them" to sign.
 Six pawprints on the card.

Rick is taking his mom to church and then bringing her here for a late lunch before taking her home.

I was going to hit the butcher shop for some rib-eyes for grilling, but we didn't get the grill fixed/replaced yet, so we're going to do burgers instead and I'll do them on the indoor grill. (Rick has to make the burgers; he makes much better burgers than I do, but I'll grill them.) I made a wee bit of macaroni salad last night and took the last container of crock pot beans out of the freezer to thaw in the fridge. Dessert is a small pineapple upside down cake. And I have mint tea in the fridge.

Happy PawPurr's Day to all the wonderful kitty dads!!!

I too am making burgers today and french fires also.  I know today might be a little difficult for Rick and his mom to get through since his dad passed away recently.

It may be better to do them on the indoor grill since we know rain may be on it's away again.

Enjoy.

My kids drove an hour and a half this morning to come to church with us. Rather than go to a restaurant on Father's Day, I cooked our meal and put it in the church refrigerator. When everyone cleared out, we went in the church kitchen, warmed our food, and enjoyed a wonderful time of food and fellowship together. I cooked a spiral ham, fresh string beans with whole new red potatoes, and fresh corn in the pot with them, stir fried squash, onions, and zucchini, home cooked applesauce, Hawaiian rolls, and cheesecake for dessert. It was a nice time together, better food than the restaurant and a more relaxed family time.

We had dinner with my step-dad in a restaurant after church.  My mother is actually out of town; visiting my Grandfather, so it was just my lil family and my step-dad.  I kept telling DD that because it was father's day; it was up to Daddy and Papa to decide where we were going to eat.  Yet we still ended up at DD's most favorite restaurant; Bob Evans.
But really it was good.  I like the food, they are fairly quick getting you seated and bringing food and the prices are still decent.  Especially for kids' meals!  And my kids eat everything off their plates there.  Win win win.

Saturday we were really busy at home and my Step-dad's father, Uncle (who doesn't speak a word of English
) and 3 of his siblings came down to visit; so I had no time to prepare a meal.  It was nice going right out.  We came home and everyone had some quiet time; which included DH and I catching a Sunday nap.
We finished off the night with Italian Ices too.

Sounds delicious. How many people did you feed?

We went to hubby's daughter's house for BBQ with them and the in-laws. Nice afternoon with the family.
