Hi! So I have some kittens I found on our porch and I am adopting them to a few friends of mine. I have told them what I believe the sexes are but I would just like some input from you guys!

Kitty #1 : I'm thinking this one is a male?

Kitty #2 : I'm thinking female?

Kitty #3 : male??

heres the deal. We actually have two separate litters of kittens there are two from one litter than I can CLEARLY see the testicles. It's so strange! They look like mini ones lol and then there are those of the ones I posted above from the other litter. I am trying to go by distance from the anus, so that is how I came up with my guesses. What is so weird is the ones I posted above are trying to eat solid food and are older, where as the others are not.. So I find it so weird that I can clearly see the other kitties "parts" so well.

Opinions please!! Thanks :)

I try to avoid guessing online, with my so so monitor at that...   I have known examples of experienced cat people whom took wrong, I have some amusing stories I could tell, including at least one vet.

Im not ironic nor mocking anyone, Im only saying sometimes its difficult to see.

If you have a whole litter, the easiest is to simply compare them with each other, and hope you have both sexes represented.

Otherwise, as you say, the distance from anus.

My view is the gender of the cat should only matter if you are going to breed or show your cat. There are more important traits to consider when adopting. Is the cat a long hair or shorthair? Longhair cats require more grooming and upkeep than a shorthair. Activity level. How active do you want your cat to be? Where do you live? Large house or small apartment? How much time can you spend playing with your cat? If you cannot spend much time playing with your cat, it is not a good idea to get a cat that is hyperactive and wants to play. What is the makeup of your home? If you have children or other pets, it is more important to adopt a cat that will fit in with your household. Gender is not that important. It is sad that male cats are less likely to be adopted than females and the gender really is not that important.

In my opinion @grendel2009 is that it does matter if people want a male or a female cat when adopting/buying a cat/kitten.. Some prefer one over the other. I don't prefer one or the other, I have both and love mine very much. It's not important to you or me... but to the general public it does matter. Just my friendly opinion. :)

Thanks for all the replys! I made some educated guesses and just wanted to reassure myself I guess. And @grendel2009 , you are right gender is not that important to some people. I for one, have a female long hair named Ellie and a short hair male named Zander. BUT it is important to some especially if you have a female or male who might only get along with a certain sex. For example, my aunt had a female cat who couldn't not stand being around other female cats, but she tolerated males very well. I've heard experiences like that from multiple people. And it is preference as well. I have never really heard that males don't get adopted often... A lot of people I know have male cats. But who knows!

Someone asked about their faces!
They are cute little kitties. All of them!

just a couple of what's on my phone. :)
