Smelly farts and loss appetite when giving a new food to cat.

Ive noticed my cat Elsa can eat anything and shes fine. But my cat Kitty when i introduce a new food she sometimes loses her appetites for a day or two. Shell still eat, but half than normal. And shell have smelly farts. After that first bump shell be fine and can eat the food on a regular basis.

i used to give her this canned food.


And stopped for a couple of months. I dont know if the formula was changed because i heard they changed owners.

My other cat is eating it fine, but again my cat Kitty got smelly farts and loss of appetite.

Is this normal?

I don't know if it's normal but certainly some cats can be nervous about changes in food, and also sensitive to sudden changes.  Have you tried mixing the old and new foods over a few days to make transition easier for her?

no, havent tried that. lol i just give her the new food. thats a good idea though, thanks!
