It is day two and no sign of the little kitten. Now the kitten is one of two kitten we found that are the offspring of one of our female barn cats. Me and my family didn't even know they existed until a few weeks ago until one morning my little sister found one being abused by our dog. Luckily my sister got to it before it could get killed and put it in the bunny barn where are alpha female and her kitten were staying. I wasn't home at the time, but my sister texted me about what happened. When I got home me and my older sister tried to settle the kitten and make sure it was alright, then we tried to figure out who the mother is. We have four adult females including the alpha and two of which we knew at the time already have had kittens, it wasn't we found the other one with the mother. So we moved that kitten into the bunny barn with it sibling, but their mother didn't want to go into the barn, so we had our alpha female take care of them... Anyway now one of them is missing, me and my mom and little sister can't find it. Any advise? I have a few theories two of which I hope are the case especially the first.

Welcome to TCS and I'm sorry it's under such circumstances. What exactly is the bunny barn? Is it a cage? Is it outdoors? Maybe if you can share more details and let us know what your theories are we can help with some suggestions.

The bunny barn is a small barn in which my sisters keep their rabbits. We call our barns and sheds by different names so we can tell which one is which. My home is an old farm, but we mostly do gardening, the only animals we have are the rabbits, one dog and barn cats.  Now the bunny barn entrance has an upright board, that poses as a barrier for any rabbits that get out of their cages and get loose. This also makes it hard for the kittens under five or six weeks to go outside. I have three theories, the first is that Bubba (our alpha female) since she has a habit of taking the two kittens to the back porch where the cats usually hang out. She has given the missing kitten back to its birth mother Keba (Key-bah) (My little sister does the naming for the cats). Since Keba shows that she has been nursing even though she never goes near the bunny barn it means that she still has another kitten around. My second theory is that Bubba is hiding the missing kitten someplace else, since she has been moving the kitten that isn't missing to the back porch more often lately, but me and my sister see it in the grass in plain sight and put it back in the bunny barn. My third theory is that it has disappeared and is probably dead, but I won't come to that conclusion until a week is past.

Great news, I believe we found the missing kitten. The mother Kiba has showed signs for weeks that she is taking care of kittens and now just an hour ago my sister found two kittens on the side of our back porch steps on of which was tame. It wasn't hissing at me when I picked it up, and it look very much like the one who went missing. The second one however was hissing. We had an idea of where Kiba kept the kittens originally, in the grainary barn, but the barn is such a mess especially in the back, and with an old car in the way it is hard to make a thorough search. But now they have reappeared and now me and my sister can focus on taming the wild one.
