Hi!

I'm trying to transition my cat to only wet food meals.  But, due to my work schedule, it's hard to make sure he's getting food at the same times every day.  So, I'm looking to buy an automatic feeder for wet food.  I've found a couple on Amazon, BUT my cat has pretty bad allergies and all of the ones I could find with ice packs are plastic.  Does anyone happen to know of similar timed wet food feeders that are stainless steel or ceramic?

Thanks!

That's a very good question. I don't have any experience with these myself and I wonder if such a feeder can be adjusted by putting a smaller ceramic bowl inside the plastic one it comes with?

I think @mschauer and @otto discussed automatic cat feeders in the past, maybe they would know?

I don't think stainless steel programmable feeders are made
Is your cat severely allergic to plastic? You could try putting a small stainless steel or ceramic dish inside the compartment. This  won't work for wedge-shaped compartments, though.

Those are great suggestions; thanks!!

I'm not really sure what is causing his allergic reaction, but I know plastic tends to make things worse, so I've just been trying to avoid it. But, one of the automatic feeders looks like the bowls are big enough to fit a ceramic dish inside (which will make clean-up easier too).  :)

A ceramic ramekin or souffle bowl or glass dish would work as well. You could find something similar at a home goods type store or even dollar store. A bowl that is shallow rather than deep would work best for canned food and fit better in a feeder.

:yeah: We used a CatMate feeder for our last cat. The plastic tray was removable, so I used small porcelain bowls instead.
