Hi, I am new to your site.  I thought I had posted once or twice, about 8 years ago, but I can not find a record of it.

I have 4 cats.  Bob is somewhere around 12 years old.  He is Siamese and is a stray who crawled up onto my back porch 8 years ago.  He was starved nearly to death and had been shot with buckshot in his head.  I took him right away to my vet and he has been here ever since.  He is an interesting guy.  He is my bed fellow.  I am very glad he came.

Because Bob kept trying to nest with a toy rabbit, I went to a friend's farm and got him an 8 week old kitten.  The kitten is now 6 years old and his name is Jacob.  He and Bob loved each other instantly and they are friends today.

Two days after I got Jacob for Bob, I was driving along a country road and there was a little kitten sitting in the middle of the road.  I stopped the car, to pick him up.  I was going to take him to the house not far from where I was to see if he was theirs but he ran up inside my motor.  I shut the car off instantly, and the farmer, who had seen what happened, came running out.  He told me the kitten was not his and then he tried to get him out of my motor, but the little kitty ran back into my exhaust system.  The farmer had to jack up my car and take the exhaust system apart to get him out.  I drove straight to my vet's with him, where I found out he was exactly the same age as the kitten I had deliberately gotten at my friend's farm.  His name is Joseph and he is now 6.  He is a people kitty.  He rather ignores the other animals.

Hobbes is my new baby.  When I picked him up at the vet's on Monday, he said he was about 8 1/2 weeks old.  This kitten had been found on the bike trail, a few miles away,  and was taken into the vet's.  He had a badly broken back leg and the vet had to remove the leg.  I was asked if I would please adopt the kitty and so I brought him home on Monday.  He is the kitty I came here to ask questions about and as soon as I can figure out where to do that, I will.

I love all of my boys.

It is nice to meet everyone!

Welcome to TCS! Your Hobbes is adorable! I once had a Hobbes--a 6-year-old abused neighborhood cat. We only had the pleasure of his company for 3 more years. He was such a sweetheart.

Hobbes just got home from getting his stitches out and the cone off of his head!  He is one happy boy.

Thank you all so much for the greetings.
