Hi,

We adopted a stray female cat about 6 months ago (our first ever cat adoption). Little did we know that she was already pregnant and gave birth to 4 lovely kittens a couple of months later. We have been looking after all 5 of them since Feb but are facing a moral dilemma now as we are about to move abroad and it would be impossible to move all of them with the whole family. We tried every possible adoption venue but no one is willing to take them. Now we have reached a point where we've to decide soon whether to get them euthanized or release them on the "street". Any constructive suggestions would be much appreciated, don't judge us please!

We have tried local shelters,  but they are already overwhelmed and are not willing to take them.

What about friends, vets, neighbors?  Have you tried social media?  Do you have any family that could help?  I am so sorry you are facing this horrible dilemma.

If the worst comes to the worst,  the mom whom seems to have survives ome time on her own, you may release her if absolute last resort.  Do spay her before, of course, if she isnt it yet.

If you are SURE she managed nicely alone, feks being a semiferale, relaeasing her back  may even be an option even if you arent absolutely desperate.

But the kittens, have never know the life outside.  Here is the euthanizing less evil than letting them be homeless.

Some homeles do survive, esp if neutered, but many do perish with a horribly death...

The best is of course, it you do manage to find somebody whom wants to be their new forever owner.

Preferably let them be spayed / neutered if you can and afford, before you adopt them out.   It will increase their chances of being welcome, of survival, dramatically.

Good luck!
