Good morning!
And Happy Friday!

We know that Windows 10 is coming (and I'm actually rather excited about it. I've been reading a lot about the new OS and I'm going to try it. Maybe not right away; I might wait til they get some of the bugs out of it. But I'm going to try it.). So I thought I'd ask a computer-related question this morning.

What OS are you using with your computer? What kind of computer are you using? What browser are you using?

I'm using Windows 8.1 on my desktop.

I'm using Windows 8.1 on my laptop.

Rick is using Vista on his desktop (his desktop is my old one)

Rick used to have an old XP Dell desktop and I was using a Dell Vista. When all the brouhaha started in about XP, we ditched the old XP computer. I bought a new Dell using Win 8.1 and Rick took my old Vista. Then Rick bought me a Toshiba laptop as part of my Christmas present last year and that uses Windows 8.1, too. We run Chrome on all of them.

My Acer laptop has Windows Vista. Hubby has a slightly newer version with Windows 7. We both use Firefox, but have Chrome, too. I use Chrome on the Acer Android tablet.

NOTHING AND NOTHING LMAO

I don't have a computer right now since my last one died.

I did have Windows 7 (which I LOVE) and the computer was an eMachine (which I love too). It was a desktop.

I am looking to get a laptop within the next few months. I DO NOT like Windows 8 at all but it looks like unless I special order one I am stuck with it.

My DD's laptop has W8 and she loves it. I've tried to work with it but just don't like it. Maybe they will get it better or something different by the time I get my laptop. BTW- I'm not a fan of Apple or Macintosh either. so those are out.

I have a Lenova Yoga 2 with Windows 8.1 which I still don't like as well as Windows 7.  I still have my Toshiba Laptop with Windows 7.  For right now it still works but I know it is on it's last legs which is why I replaced it.  I pulled it out to do my taxes this year.  Taxes are frustrating enough so I did them on my old laptop with Windows 7.

My first computer that I had at home was an eMachine.  It was a desktop with the old huge monitor that was like a tube TV.  I don't remember which version of Windows it had.  I replaced it with a Compaq laptop that had Windows XP on it.  I spilled coffee on that one and the keyboard was funky after that, a couple of keys didn't work at all and several of them didn't work right.  Sometimes I would push a key and get another letter or I would get a whole string of the right letter.  I replaced that one with the Toshiba.

I use Google Chrome.

I use Firefox for work.  I don't work on a PC.  I have an HP Thin Client from work.  It doesn't even have a hard drive it just connects to the server.  I also have a large 20 inch monitor from the company.

OS X version 10.8.5 on my MacBook Air for my personal laptop, but for work I was given a MacBook Pro and it is running version 10.6.8. I love MacBooks. Browers are Safari and Firefox on both.

Windows 7 at work laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad). I use either Explorer or FireFox at work, depending on the intranet site I need to access (some only work with one browser).

At home I have Windows XP on a old Dell Studio desktop. I only use FireFox at home.

i'm running win 7 on an HP all-in-one desktop. i won't be considering upgrading to win 10 for at least 6 months after it comes out -- like @Winchester said, i'll let most of the bugs get worked out of it. i may not even upgrade at all. my hp computer is coming up on 4 years old and runs fine, but i'll go ahead and buy a new computer in about 3-ish years from now. i also have an MSI notebook running win 7, which i don't really use and keep for a back up computer -- should my desktop die on me. i prefer firefox as my web browser, and only use that.

i've had a hand-me-down apple imac, which i enjoyed. but when it came time to buy a new computer, while i do like apple computers very much, the price difference was significant enough that i bought a PC. i've never had a problem with or needed a repair on this HP all-in-one.

years ago, i spilled a beverage on my desk at work where the computer was. no damage done then but i vowed i'd never let that happen again, by sticking to one simple rule -- no beverages on the computer desk/table...ever. even now, i'm sitting at my computer desk here at home, and my coaster is sitting on the floor about 2 1/2 feet from my chair with a can of soda on it.
