Hi everyone!

Thank you again to those who replied to my post about medication for pneumonia in cats.

I took Milita to the vet on Tuesday.  They had trouble getting an x-ray of her, but they were finally able to get a readable one (she likes to try and squirm away from the vet techs).  The vet was very impressed with how much her pneumonia has cleared up, and she said she doesn't usually see such great improvement within a week, so that was great news!  We decided to finish her course of treatment with only the Baytril and Prednisone.  We have about 5 days of Baytril left to give, and then we will taper her off the Prednisone and see how she does.  She told us that if Lita begins to cough again after the Prednisone is done, she may have asthma, and we will need to deal with that if she does, of course.

The Clavamox did such a number on poor Lita's tummy that she lost nearly a pound in the week she was on it.  I feel so bad for her.  When she started eating hardly anything, I took her off it as I was concerned about fatty liver disease, and it looks like I made a good call.

Thank you all again for your concern and purrs and well wishes.  I'm so thrilled that Milita is doing so much better. :)

That's good to hear! Has her appetite improved now and has she regained her weight?

Great news

I tell  you, sometimes the cure is worse than the disease

Yes, she is eating like she used to again.  She hasn't gained the weight back.  I'm sure she will in time, though.
