I was going to make one, but I can't find the type of cake mix, Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe Butter Cake.  I can't find suitable recipes online. I want simple, not many added ingredients. I need the recipe by tomorrow morning.

WHAT I'D LIKE:

A boxed cake mix

To use bananas

SIMPLE, but GOOD

I already have an icing chosen

WHAT I DON'T WANT;

A recipe that adds much else but the bananas (i.e., no sour cream, no weird ingredients, and only a few ingredients)

No chocolate

In short, I basically want to add mashed bananas to a box cake mix, but don't know what generic flavor to use (yellow? white?).

I'd prefer a recipe where the cupcakes do not have to be refrigerated, and can sit out for a few hours on display (it's for the restaurant I cook in). I think that having pretty, packaged cupcakes on display near the paying area may boost sales, as opposed to keeping them hidden in the kitchen all night! They will be individually wrapped, for health reasons.

Thanks!!!

Have never tried from a box cake mix, but my moms bananna cake has vanilla in it and there used to be a french vanilla cake mix by pilsbury that had little vanilla flecks in it. That would probally work, may have to decrease water a little to comensate for mashed bananna.

I don't like bananas but these are as simple as it gets and no out of the ordinary ingredients. You can use white or yellow cake mix. Your choice

You'll Need
1 White or Yellow Cake Mix
3-4 Over-ripe bananas Mashed
2 eggs
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Combine everything in a bowl mixing well. Pour into greased muffin tins and bake at 350F for 20-24 minutes or until golden brown.

These are wonderfully easy to prepare and use very few ingredients. If you'd like you can make a streusel topping by combing 1/3 c. brown sugar, a couple tablespoons of butter and 1/2- 1 tsp cinnamon and sprinkle over the muffins before baking.

Thanks for the muffin recipes! One problem--I just realized that I said "muffin"--I meant "cupcake"! Sorry! Blame the cat--she was rolling on the keyboard and generally annoying me when I posted! So...any cupcake recipes? Thank you!

https://www.duncanhines.com/recipes/cupcakes/jenoogle/banana-mania-cupcakes/     From Duncan Hines. It uses a regular butter cake mix and two bananas. You know, I would think you could sub whatever cake mix you have on hand.

I can't vouch for the success/flavor of the cupcakes bc I've never tried the recipe.

Never mind....this calls for heavy whipping cream and banana pudding mix. Sorry. Didn't read your entire post.

Pam, that's the recipe I intended to use, but I can't find that flavor of Duncan Hines around here.  Funny you should find it, too!

I saw that one, too but kept going since you said you didn't want something that uses that kind of cake mix. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to substitute a yellow one for it. I'm guessing that the only real difference between the 2 is some butter flavoring. If you have butter flavored extract (it's available online and in the baking aisle of most grocery stores) you could just add a little if you wanted to.
