Well as some of you have already read one of my cats crossed the RB yesterday.I told about it in the Crossing the Bridege forum if you missed it.On top of that, yesterday morning I noticed one of my inside kitties went to the litter box and acted like he was going to urinate, but nothing came out.I didn't think too much about it at the time because I had just changed the litter and thought that he may have been trying to get to it first.Well, about 1 a.m. this morning I was still up and he went to the litter box like 15 times in 5 minutes and nothing was coming out except a few drops sometimes. So this morning I drive an hour and a half to the vet because it is where I have always went and they are soooo much cheaper than the vets around here.
They examined him and said his bladder wasn't full so they didn't suspect a stone,so it was probably and infection and they were going to sedate him,do a UA and put in a catheter. She said that if they weren't going to be closed for 2 days for Christmas that they would normally keep him there. She asked if I could come back late this evening and I told her I could if I really needed to,but I lived an hour and a half away so she told me to come back in an hour.
So I just spent $86 that I really didn't have to spend right now(But he's worth it
)and he is doing fine, but is probably a little upset because they left the catheter in and told me to take it out in 2 days.He has to take antibiotics, too.
Plus today was the court date for the man that killed Mike's grandmother back in April.I really wish they would have waited until after Christmas for the court date and not TWO days before. Her and another lady were on their way home when their car tore up and the otehr lady's son came to jump the off and were sitting on the shoulder of the road and some drunk came through and slammed into the back of the car and the two women were standing in between the cars and it slammed her car into her son's and neither of them survived.
The guy is a regular in the county jail for DUI and PI and stuff like that. The SOB only got 11/29 in jail and will get out in Aug. of next year(he has time served)and will be on probation for 8 years and no drivers license for 10 years. This is NOT enough. She was like my grandmother too and she always treated me like family. And my son is 3 and doesn't understand why he can't go see her.I didn't even get to go to the courthouse because I had to take my kitty to the vet.

I already knew this wouldn't be a good Christmas for us because Mike's grandmother wouldn't be with us,but now all this other stuff has happened as well.I am just ready for the holidays to be over with.I want to crawl in a hole somewhere and not come out for a VERY long time.

Sorry this is so long.I just needed to get a few things out before I go nuts.I think I'm about halfway there already.

Wow - you really do have a lot of things on your plate right now. I'm sorry that all this stuff has ruined your Christmas, but life is like that - negative things seem to all come at once. I guess all you can do is hang in there and try to make Christmas as positive as possible for your son.

It always seem the worst stuff happens right before something great. Guess you're due for something great. And from the sounds of it, its gonna be awesome! Hang in there. I know its tough, but I'm sure things will get better....they seem to always do. ***hugs***

I am so sorry to hear about your cat crossing rainbow bridge.
I hadn't read about it yet..I don't have much time to check out all the forums here anymore....but please know how very sorry I am for your loss!
My thoughts and prayers are with you tonight. I know how hard it is....this will be my first Christmas without Merlin, since he came into my life 3 1/2 years ago.
I am glad to hear your other kitty is doing well, though. I am sorry to hear about what happened to Mike's grandma and the court case being so close to Christmas.

My thoughts are with you and I am here if you need to talk. **HUGS**

This is a depressing time of year for some...myself included...both my parents are gone and Merlin, and I am jobless after 14 years...it is rough....but we need to remember....things WILL get better and we will have better Christmas's ahead...I know we will!

I'm so sorry to hear about everything, but I wanted to let you know that the drunk didn't get off very easy. That's a pretty long sentence. Our courts no longer give long sentences unless someone really pisses off a lot of people or does major property damage.

Probation also gives the courts more control over the man than parole would, so it IS a good thing. I had this all explained to me when the man who tried to kill me got 5 years of probation and time served. They can give more years for probation than they can for actual jail time and Probation is controlled by the courts while parole is not.

I know that doesn't help much, but I hope it makes you feel a little better.
