If it was my cat, I'd get a vet to check it over. It's possible that he/she has IBD or some other digestive disorder. I'd always rather get ongoing symptoms checked out in case they're a sign of something more serious.

Ah. Maybe his meds need adjusting? I don't know a lot about IBD, so I can't offer much advice. A thorough grooming every day might help stop him ingesting fur in the first place. Other than that, I don't know what to say.

Well, it's good that the hairballs are going out the back end vs out the front end.  Cats are designed for it to work that way actually.  So, really, your only issue (with this post)  is that his stools are loose
.

So...when you say it is constant, so you mean every time he has a stool there is hair in it, or he is in the box constantly?  Aren't you the poster who was asking what to do about hairballs?  Did you try some of the things recommended?  Perhaps some of those things, or ALL of them together are what is causing the loose stools?

Tell us what you are doing, additives to his diet that are different now... Did you add in Egg Yolk Lecithin? Vets Best? Anything else?  How much?  Are you giving pepcid?  anything else?  Is he still also throwing UP hairballs?

Since is is known to have IBD, does it manifest in loose stools anyway, or what?

No, I am not the same person.

He takes Pepcid. he takes cat lax.

Ibd can cause loose stools but usually meds and proper food clear it up. It is not working for him.

No, he is not on constantly. It is when he goes.

and sorry I did ask I thought you meant the other one.

I will not be a furminator, heard they are bad.

I need to check about egg yolk because of his issues.

What I was asking, does YOUR cat normally have loose stools with HIS  IBD?  I know IBD can cause loose stools in some cats, need to know about YOUR cat, since you are inquiring about the hair in his loose stools.  Hair in stools is perfectly normal.  If you were to look at any cats stools and break them down, you should see LOTS of hair in them every time they poop.  since your cat is having loose stools, it's apparently , just more obvious, maybe because it's shedding season right now
.

Have you increased the amount of Cat Lax you are giving?  I would think if so, that might cause loose stools.  It's oily, isn't it?  Plus may have ingredients in it that aren't so good for IBD cats...not sure.

Is he still throwing UP hairballs, as well?

He doesn't have just hair. He had big huge thick hair balls. His stool his soft but not loose. It's formed. Now it's not. He gets the cat lax once every other day.

Is he overgrooming? Are there any new stresses in his life?
