Hello, I currently own a kitten who's around 4-5 weeks old, every night when attending my bed for sleep my cat cries for me as I put him into his cat bed cage. Being swayed by his meows, I eventually cave in and let him out, only for him to sleep by my side. I love him and I enjoy hugging but I don't want him beside me  or I risk squashing him while I toss and turn in my sleep. I usually put him back in his bed cage but he just resumes crying out for me, thus, depriving me of sleep. I can't cuddle with him or I'll risk hurting him, I can't put him back inside or he'll just cry throughout the night.

I am awfully confused and stressed and I'm not sure what do, help would be greatly appreciated.

Poor little darling is missing his mum.. 4 to 5 weeks is very early to be away from her.  He needs to learn all the things a mum cat would teach him, and he really needs to be loved.  There are people here who are very good with kittens.. let's see if someone can guide you better.

Poor baby I know when I brought Vincent home I tried two things though he was older at 11 weeks he was still being separated from his family (siblings and mother). So I bought this which he didn't really take to and a Kong Softie Either thing could work I know Vincent cuddles that softie even now at times. I know they sell the former at Petco and the latter at Petsmart.

Raising kittens generally results in lost sleep ;).

With that being said, you can try giving your kitten a soft toy to cuddle as the above poster suggested. You can also try putting his sleeping cage on one side of your bed so he can see you. If you can play with him before bed it may help to tire him.

He would also love another kitten to play with and cuddle with, and he would no longer cry at night. If you are so inclined to adopt a pal from a shelter who is close to his age it would solve a lot of problems now and going forward.

The best solution other than a second kitten is to simply let the little fellow sleep with you as soon as he is big enough.

Good luck! :)
