Haha I know!

Baby made it through the night, which would imply she was nursing a little, correct? We didn't nurse her at all last night.

Good news.  Please make sure Baby eats more today.  Just getting enough food to make it isn't enough to grow.  Let us know how it goes.

That's good news!

Have you weighed the baby to see if it's gained weight?

There is nothing to fear by weighing a baby. We really need to get her weight once a day to make sure she is gaining. Just weigh her in front of mama kitty.

It really doesn't need to be so stressful. Just take a deep breath and try to relax. The babies have been doing good.

Did you get Advantage yet?

Not yet, but I'm going to run up to the pet store again today hopefully.

I never dreamed work would be less stressful than home!

So baby Bean- first born and trouble child: weighs 2.4 ounces. I think that's okay for a 3 day old. But then, Cocoa- middle child and big fat boy, weighs 3.7 ounces. He never stops nursing. Mom still loves baby Bean, takes care of her, but bean just doesn't nurse. We got her suckling pretty strong today! How many oz should she drink in a feeding? She's been taking about 1/2 oz every hour.

She should drink 1 mL of formula every hour, or 2 mL every two hours.

The rule of thumb is 8 mL for every ounce of body weight, and more is better.

Is she suckling from mom at all?

Both babies need to gain 6-10 grams per day. They need to double their weight by the end of the first week.

Sounds like she's a little champ :)

I think she's just too weak to nurse. I'm afraid she won't make it through the night again.

Update! I weighed my tiny one today (getting long white fur all over my maroon team shirt), she is 6.8 lbs. I don't know how many oz that is though:/ I also took a few pictures to help with maybe confirming things? And to show you her beautiful face. These are what pictures I could get of her nipples, and this is Her:
I think her nipples look like those of a three-weeks pregnant cat, and she would be around that time (24-26 days), but I'm not sure.
Wow! Your cat is insanely gorgeous!!

Thank you! Coming from a long line of strays, she was a diamond in the rough. She's a fourth gen stray.

Are you feeding her with a syringe?  She needs more food.  Put a tiny smear of light karo syrup or liquid honey on her lips or gums and try to feed her a minute or two afterwards.  the sugar will give her some instant energy.

btw 6-10 grams is .2 - .4 ounces.

Sorry I start this earlier and got distracted.

Does she have fleas  Do you have a flea comb or can you see the fleas on her to pick off.  They can suck enough blood from a newborn to cause anemia.

I thought you said she was eating well when your mother fed her.

Are you following our recommendations for feeding her? She has to be fed through the night if she isn't nursing from mama kitty. Kittens go downhill fast without food.

Did you get the Advantage and put it on mama cat's neck yet to battle the fleas?

We are. She's just very weak. She's still eating but mom is afraid she's just not gonna make it. She seems less alive today
