I got an early Christmas present from my best friend today- two tickets to see LOTR Return of the King!!! He's going to babysit for us for free too! What a guy! I'm SO excited. I've never read the last book in the trilogy, so I have no idea what happens.

I'm trembling I'm so happy!!!!

I chewed off every fingernail, and my contacts dried out because I literally forgot to blink

The battle scenes were beyond amazing!!!!

I really want to see it. I will have to wait until after school now because I'm busy for ages. I can't wait.

we had an opportunity to see it for free when it first came out but Darrell hadn't seen the second one yet, so we didn't go. NOW he has seen it and we're going to see the last part next Saturday!

I just saw it for the second time today. And I loved it as much as the first time. I could see it again, too. Probably will.

We saw it again yesterday, and it was even better. Sean Astin deserves an Oscar for his performance, and for crying out loud, someone needs to give an award, any award, to Andy Serkis for his Gollum/Smeagol!!!

I have been a major Tolkien geek since I was 12. These movies are a dream come true. No, they're not the books, but they're still darn good.

Sue, I have to agree, Sean Astin is brilliant. IMO, Sam is the bravest character of them all. I thought so when I read the books, too. I think I heard he's nominated for a Golden Globe. Andy Serkis was equally amazing.

I just hope that Peter Jackson gets the recognition he deserves. If he doesn't win an Oscar for best director or best picture, or both, something is wrong.

LOTR 3 was great. I love the scene where the Urukai fights with the orc thingy for the Mithril shirt.
Which one is Sean Austin? Gandalf? Enjoy the movie!

Sean Astin plays Sam. Ian McKellan is Gandalf, he is also Magneto in the X-Men movies.

Sam was my favortite character (aside from Orlando Bloom as Legolas ). We should all be so lucky as to have a friend like him.

I saw all three movies over the past week or so. Can't even count how many times I have watched Fellowship, third time for Two Towers, and ROTK in the theaters for the first time. (We were visiting my in-laws and all they did was sit in front of the TV. Luckily for me, Starz is showing the first two, which took up at least 6 hours of our LONG vacation, and ROTK gave us a good reason to escape for most of a day!)

One word: WOW!!!

If this doesn't get Best Picture or Best Director there is something seriously wrong with the system. I have to give my actor kudos to Billy Boyd, who played Pippin. He was absolutely perfect as that character.

Eowyn kicks a$$!!!
