Hello all!

I've been a visitor to this site a number of times before when I was looking for help with my cat, but I thought it was finally time to actually join this knowledgeable and helpful community.

A little about me... I love music and spent my last three years as a band/choir/general music teacher, grades 6-12, in a small rural school.  This fall I have taken a break from teaching to return to college and begin work on a master's in Music Education!  Aside from my cat, Pi, I also have a 9 year old red eared slider turtle named Thomas, and a 10 year old shire/thoroughbred cross horse named Navigator.

Now onto my cat... :)  I "adopted" Pi in November 2013.  She and her siblings were found by one of my students in a Walmart parking lot.  The kittens were all very friendly and not at all scared of people, which lead us to believe that they must have been dumped there by someone as soon as they were able to walk.  :(  Pi was very small when I got her, she must have only been 5 weeks old at the most (She's about a year and a half now)!  But she really fit in with me and became a great (if onry) companion.  She's very smart and has learned to sit on command, and I'm in the process of teaching her to come to her name - she usually does most of the time, but I'm working on getting a consistent response.  She travels very well - probably due to the fact that she's been on car trips with me ever since she was very tiny.  So loading her up in her carrier is very easy and she is quiet and calm for usually the whole ride (we did 2 and a half hour trips regularly).

I like to think she's very pretty (of course, I'm her mama!) so I have a ton of pictures of her.  Here are just a few. :)
