New Cat

So, our friends just gave us a cat.  I believe it was a stray, and it recently had babies.  The nipples are still puffy and full of milk.  I do not believe she is no a lot of pain, and will still come sit with me and is friendly.  My main concern is the puffy nipples, i do not know what to do, please advise.

How long ago did she have the kittens? It sounds to me like she was removed too soon as the kittens were still feeding.

Sounds that way to me too. What happened to the kittens? In the meantime, you can apply a warm washcloth to her nipples to ease her discomfort. It takes about two weeks for milk to dry up. If the kittens are quite young, she still needs to nurse. If her nipples and surrounding area become inflamed, you need to take her to a vet for medical care as it can turn into mastitis. Then she might need antibiotics. Let us know about the kittens and how mama cat is doing.

I am unsure about the kittens,  I came home from work yesterday, and my roommate had a cat.  Given to him by his boss.  She seems normal, maybe a little lazy or mopey. but eating and cuddling like normal.  Just a little bit of fat nipples..  I will try the wash cloth and see how she is doing after work.
