Oh, how absolutely beautiful! Mama and babies! She looks so content! Everything sounds lovely. Sometimes the mama can have little after pains, but sounds like she's done. Congratulations to you! Post with any further questions you may have. The kittens look very healthy indeed ! :)

Be sure to give mom lots of wet food and kitten chow for high protein and nutrition. And a big bowl of water. She needs it all to make milk for her babies for the next couple of months. You can buy a can of KMR by Petag at the pet store. This is kitten milk replacement (formula) and mix it and serve her dishes of it too for an extra supplement. The kittens will drink it when they are weaning as well. Or full fat goat's milk is very healthy for all as well, and highly recommended as a supplement.

She may sense something wrong with it. Please take the kitten away from her. Do not allow her to attack it! I will write more!

You will need to hand feed the kitten yourself for now. First set it up in a box with a very soft towel or blanket. Put a soft toy next to it to cuddle with. Kittens cannot regulate their body temperature for the first three weeks so it must stay warm. Put a heating pad set on low under the towel. Or a sock filled with rice, microwaved for five minutes, wrapped in a towel, and placed nearby. I will write more about feeding next.

How is the kitten? Is the kitten okay?

I need to know so I can tell you how to feed it.

Also, is she nursing the other kittens well?

Your mama cat may not feel well. Or she may have mastitis, and the kittens nursing is hurting.

Can you check to see if her nipples and mammary glands look unusually swollen and red? Not just full of milk, but all red and puffy around the outside?

If so she needs to see a vet for antibiotics right away. She may need to see a vet anyway.

But sadly, some cats do attack and reject their young.

When you have the kittens settled, let me know.

One of you needs to go right away to a pet store or Walmart and purchase kitten milk replacer (KMR), and pick up a 1or 2 ml syringe from a pharmacy.

You will need to mix this according to instructions, and begin to feed each kitten every 2 hours.

I will explain how to feed them shortly. I need to hear back from you or your wife.

Okay. I'm in US. Does your supermarket sell KMR? Or full fat goat's milk is very good.

The fire is good, but the sock with rice will stay warm through the night.

Now I am going to write a post about HOW to feed the kittens.

Do you have a syringe?
