My kitten Callie is six maybe seven weeks old I've had her for literally two weeks my older sister babysits her when I'm at work I came home Sunday evening to both of her back legs not working.

I took her to the vet Monday morning and had to pay $120 just to get her soon they informed me that her hip may be out of place but will that make both of her legs stop working also they told me it will be $300 for an x-ray I'm not sure what to do. They gave her pain medication but I noticed today she pooped with a little bit of blood coming out. How can I comfort her and does anyone know what may be wrong with her?

Hi

It sounds like its what the vet said, a hip problem.  You either have to treat her, or consider euthanasia, but it is not appropriate to let her continue in this condition.

You're only helpless if you chose not to act.  If he is in pain, and suffering then you are contributing to that if you withold treatment or euthanasia.  I can't tell you what to do, but you have to do something.  Talk to the vet, get the best advice you can, and then act ethically within your means.  If you aren't strong enough, then get someone to help you.

If you prolong this kitten's life without treatment or release from suffering, then that bad dream will live with you forever.  I will say it again for emphasis.  Act ethically, within your means.

If you got her from a shelter, contact them immediately for assistance, they may provide post adoption medical support, or they may accept her back from you for treatment if you surrender her.

:yeah: I'm so, so sorry you're in this position. For the kitten's sake, decisions about treatment need to happen as soon as possible.

I agree with Stephen.. great advice there.

I would also look into an emergency vet for a second opinion as well, especially a cat-only vet. If you can't afford, then releasing the cat to a shelter would be the best bet

I am very sorry for your little kitten and how very scary for you to come to find your kitten this way. More needs to be done medically for your kitten. Your kitten needs medical intervention or I fear great suffering. I am so sorry but yes, the costs will be high for proper care. Your kitten definitely needs that xray as a first step in the process of resolution to this sudden injury. If you cannot afford to do so, then sadly on your heart, the kitten needs to get help elsewhere such as the shelter or humane society or other. The poor little thing cannot go on this way, hun. I am truly sorry. :alright: We are here for you to help you through this but must put the kitten first right now. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:
