Ants in my Grass

I let Ming out in our backyard to lay in the grass, catch bugs and sniff plants.

We do sort of have an ant problem. There are a bunch of ants going up and down our tree and they roam around the cement. I also see them enter the grass but of course, I can't see them in the grass.

Do you think it's okay if my cat rolls around in the grass, knowing there's probably ants and bugs all over the grass? Is it even normal to have (lots of) bugs in the grass? I've seen some weird things in there... 

Do you think I should attempt to "exterminate" the bugs? 

We're going to get rid of the ants somehow of course since we're finding a few stray ones in our home. I read online that putting icing sugar and baking soda together will both attract and explode the ants! Anyone try this?

Our cats go outside and roll about in the grass. Pushy seems to like the anthills because they're dirt I suppose and he'll quite happily roll on top of them. As we don't have any scary kind of ants here, I'm not too concerned. They don't seem bothered by them and all, and they don't try to eat them. They will occasionally swat at the big carpenter ants we get inside, but that's about it.

Oh wow! Okay, it's nice to know that your cat does that and is perfectly fine! I'm just afraid an ant will crawl into Ming's ear or other places and into his body D: Maybe I'm thinking too much. HAah!
