I've heard that once you feel kittens moving that they should be here within a few days.. Has anyone else heard of this?

My cat, Miley, got out 3 times... On the 15th, 18th, & 25th of April so there's a 10 day gap of when she could have gotten pregnant.
Today you can feel the kittens move for the 1st time & even see them! I had a really bad birth experience myself this January so I'd really like to be there when Miley gives birth just to make sure it's all going smooth.

Once you feel the kittens move there is usually about two weeks to go. Temperature is not always the best indicator. It's great you want to be with her! She will likely appreciate that. Do you have nesting areas set up for her? :)

Great, thank you! I've set up 2 in her favourite places & she's taken a liking to one. :)

Agree, its 2, occasionally 3 weeks left since you begin to feel them move.

The temp drop is not entirely reliable, but its usually a full Celsius grade.   But if she is the least irritaded by measuring th the behind, do do it.

Use such a modern era termometer, or measure in the armpit of the foreleg.   The temp in there is again about a full Celsius lower, and its not fully as relaible as in the rectum, but still, you see the tendencies.

Thank you :). She surprising doesn't mind the thermometer at all right now... I'll definitely stop if she does get irritated though.

My cats nipples have been very chapped so I've been keeping an eye on them and today I noticed the look a lot better and full rather then flat... When I touched one milk squirted out. Does milk present mean labour is near? Or could we still have another week?
"Day 65" is either today (18th), the 21st, or 28th.

Great, thank you! I figured she would give birth around the 18th or 21st lol I imagine the tom cat wouldn't have taken his time to get to her. Today was the day she was actually scheduled to be spayed.. Ugh lol.

That's the plan! Were adopting out the kittens with a program which you have to pay for the clipping before you get the kitten which also gives me an ease of mind that they'll more likely be going to good owners. Our other female is at the vets being done right now. :)

Today Miley has been eating a lot but once she's done eating I couldn't find her anywhere! I had set up 2 boxes in her favorite spots but she wasn't there. Lately she's been laying out in the middle of the living room but I finally found her hiding in a closed off area so I gave her one of the boxes and she went right in. Maybe nesting has begun!

Yes, seems so!

They usually not take their prepared nest beforehand.  Often even afterwards.

In nature they dont want their chosed nest to be smelly too early, or get fleas infested.

So I think the delivery is in the next hours - is probably ongoing as I write this post.

Good luck!

We have kittens!
Today was actually my original guess of when she would give birth. Last night she was pretty normal and eating her regular amount but she kept going to the litter box, scratching the floor around it, and doing circles and I was thinking maybe she had a different sensation and it would be the night.
Mama is doing great and were currently at 4 kittens!

Looks like she's done at 6 [emoji]128522[/emoji]. I'll post photos later when they are done getting cleaned and bonding.
