Khaleesi has a REALLY bad habit, and she has since she was a kitten, and it is chewing. She loves chewing on things, I have even purchased her puppy chew toys to help her get her chewing need out in a safe way. The issue is she doesn't really know how to chew while holding the toy between paws like a dog so unless I am there to hold the toy she doesn't get to chew. So she will sometimes seek out less desirable, and less safe things to chew on. She already damaged my 700 dollar cellphone as I left it charging next to my head overnight and woke up to find one corner badly chewed where she had been going at it all night. Same with my laptop cord (which is why I turn off the power strip it is connected to if she is going to be unattended with it) and lots of other items that are damaged from her chewing. I will admit part of me finds it to be a cute quirk and I have never felt it was urgent to correct as I assumed at first it was teething and would go away...but now at 3 years old it is clear she just loves doing it.

So to the point of my post, tonight she got a hold of a toy mustache keychain I have that makes noise. She was chewing on it, I saw her laying down but hadn't realized she was chewing something until I saw her jump up very quickly and licked her lips like something unpleasant happened. She had broken a piece off of the toy (which was plastic) but the piece happened to be right near the battery so I am assumed she got an electric shock biting into a battery. It was just a small watch battery and she didn't perforate it or ingest any acid (there was none) and her mouth looks fine and not bleeding or swollen. I even went so far as to listen to her heart with my stethoscope to make sure and that sounded normal as well. Is there anything else I should be worried about? How much charge can a watch battery even hold?

I'm glad she's ok, time to remove all batteries!
