Hello friends of furry friends,

My furbaby, a long haired ragdoll, has not pooped in nearly a week, and is vomitting up any food she eats. We can feel a hard lump in her tum and she is quite vicious when we try to massage it. She has been to the vet a few days ago, they gave her some nausea medication but were of no help in any way with the bum blockage.
I am considering an enema type (hopefully) solution. What has worked for others? Would it be a better idea to use warm water, or maybe olive oil? She is a bit of a meanie, so perhaps getting the vet to do it might be a better idea.

Any insight would be appreciated as I fear she will be getting toxic.

You need to go back to the vet, and really emphasise the constipation issue. She needs veterinary intervention...at the very least a laxative. It's possible it's a hairball that's causing the problem, but it could be something else.

If you're not happy with the treatment your vet is giving, you can always get a second opinion.

I hope your little girl gets better soon.

She could have a blockage that is preventing her from being able to poop, and inserting something into her rectum for an enema could cause even more damage.  OR, it could simply be bad case of constipation.  But either way, a Vet is the best intervention.  But in view of what you've said, I would be taking her to a DIFFERENT Vet, if that is in any way an option.  (unless you didn't mention her not pooping when you took her in before, and they didn't perform any physical exam on her for some legitimate reason)

BTW, time is of the essence here!
