This is more of a safety issue, than a health issue. But they go hand in hand. We all want our babies to be safe, protected, healthy & LOVED... MICKEY, my cat with the tuxedo coat, decided to get in the sewing kit and pull out several rools of thread... Next day i find where hes had his little private party, count needles, all there, im thinking everythings fine and dandy... Oh how wrong i was... Fast forward two days... I see Mickey sitting on the couch grooming himself, look down and see a string hanging from his anus... At this point, im freaked.... What do i do, well i call my vet, He tells me to have someone restrain him, and for me to lift his tail and [emoji]128073[/emoji]VERY GENTLY TUG[emoji]128072[/emoji] the string and if it has no resistance to pull it out... If it feels caught, to not pull it bring him on in for an X-RAY... By this point im sweating bullets as u can imagine... i have my daughter wrap him with a towel, as a restraint, i lift his tail and tug... VICTORY!!!! The string slide right on out... I was so releaved!!!! Not sure if i could have taken the loss of another one of my babies after KANGAHOP... Vet Informed me to watch him and make sure there wasnt any more string and to make sure he is using the bathroom regularly for he may have a blockage or obstruction if theres any string left in the little guy... Happy to say its been a week and his bowels are moving at their regular pace... ALWAYS CHECK WITH YOUR VET BEFORE PULLING ANYTHING LIKE STRING OR YARN FROM YOUR CATS ANUS... I WAS VERY FORTUNATE THEIR WAS NO BLOCKAGE & IT PASSED ON ITS OWN... BUT HAD IT OF BEEN WRAPPED AROUND HIS INTESTINES I COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED HIM GREAT HARM... I have sinced moved all items i deem harmful to my man cave... LOL, my spare room... and have cat proofed all cabinets...

Hello
I have a happy ending story
My cat Ariel loves to eat whatever junk he can find, one day we went to a new years party and we came back. We asked a friend to feed him while we were gone, but when we got home, he was puking, puking, and puking. He wouldn't eat a thing. I got so scared that he was sick. We waited and then we took him the vet. They thought he was sick and he didn't want to eat, so they have him a pill to make him hungry and he started eating but puked again. We also had a feeding tube to feed him wet food. but it turned out that he had streamers caught in his intestines!
He had to have surgery and had a fifty percent chance of survival. They did the surgery and he survived.
After the surgery they let him easy out of the feeding tube for a while so he could get back to eating. He did not like it very much. But he survived and I was so happy!

Yes, you always have to be very careful about what cats might get into.  Even things that are attached to their toy wands, like streamers and feathers, can become detached and then they can ingest them.  Or rubber bands, or hair bands,  or lose threads from pretty much anything

Someone's cat even eat the end off a doorjamb and got blocked
