Curious; anybody had experience with the Loc8tor pet product?

Probably not the perfect place to post this, but as it relates to my planning for two new kittens…

Having lost my poor little girl two months ago under tragic circumstances (Farewell, my little one; Kîa: 2012-10-21…2015-04-21), I'm determined this time to ensure (as much reasonably as is possible) that nothing of the kind will happen again.

So, just wondering as to whether anybody has had any experience with the Loc8tor for pets: Loc8tor Pet Bundle. I did look at various GPS trackers, but they are inaccurate, heavy, expensive, have appalling battery life, incur continual monitoring fees and IMO really are not suited for cats. The technological rationale behind this thing appears sound, but there is little point in wasting money on something that does not do as claimed.

I realise some may insist that the only true safety lies in not allowing cats outdoors. But this is a very quiet area and extremely secure. What happened to poor Kîa was an appalling chance in a million; in a kinder world, she should have been safe to go where she would.

So, has anybody tried the Loc8tor, and if so, was it worth it, or a waste of time?

My cats are and always have been indoor only.
Yeah, its the best way to play it safe, if playing the safest possible is important.

That said, such a  trackind device was used recently by a forumist, to find the hidden nest and kittens, of a homeless mom whom begged for food...

So, yes, such a device may be useful.  Just be sure the harness is breakable  (and thus, it will be lost now and then, harness and gears).

Oh, definitely. Always I've used break-away collars, so that would be a given.

It does seem to be the best tracking solution I've found thus far.
