My new kitty from the shelter has a patch of dry skin on her stomach, just above her bum. She is about 9 weeks old, and had a vet checkup just a few days ago. I just noticed the patch today. She doesn't seem to be scratching at it. It is white flaky skin, with slight hair loss. I'm nervous it could be ringworm, and I also have another 9 week kitty, and a 6 year old kitty. I'm not finding any pictures of ringworm that looks like her rash, but I also can't find any other information. Is it possible it's just dry skin? For a little more background, I did treat the carpets today with a baking soda vacuum up cleanser.

It could be an allergy reaction to the litter, especially if you use scented litter.  Is there any kind of redness on her paws, too?  I would definitely get her back to the vet to check for ringworm, though, just to rule that out.

There's no redness anywhere, not even on the dry patch. After more research and inspection it looks identical to cradle cap. under the scab like flakes is healthy pink skin. I cleaned it up and put some anti bacterial gel for cats on it. Vets not open on the weekend so if it doesn't clear up I'll be calling tomorrow. Thanks for the reply!
