Please can someone advise which brand is best for cats ?
And is a Tapeworm tablet every 3 months totally necessary when the other tablets treat intestinal worms ????
Is this just a money making ploy or necessary ?
Thankyou

I've never heard of advocate so I can't say, but I use revolution on my cats and I like it. It covers fleas, heartworms and a variety of intestinal parasites but it does not treat tape worms. You shouldn't need to treat for tapes regularly. As long as your cat is adequately protected from fleas, tape worms shouldn't be a problem.

The vet gave my little one Advocate and it covers prevention and treatment of fleas, ear mites, notoedric mange, heartworm, hookworm and ringworm in the belly. I haven't found anything about tapeworm on the information leaflet, so I would assume it doesn't cover that.

The vet did say that it works as a brilliant preventative measure, but I can't comment on the effectiveness of treatment since he didn't have fleas/mites/worms. My little boy didn't have any adverse reactions to it.

I do know it shouldn't be used on cats weighing less than 1kg and a vet should be consulted if used on an ill animal.

Hope this helps :)

Advocate is an alternate version of advantage multi. I ordered it before from Australia because it's cheaper than the vet, and is exactly the same product. I've never used revolution though, but advocate worked quite well.
